 **WHAT MAKES YOU THE RIGHT MATCH:**

  


  

  * Experience writing robust, maintainable HTTP and REST APIs. Previous experience with Ruby is a plus
  

  * At least 2 years of experience in backend development
  

  * Knowledge of  _SQL_  and familiarity with  _NoSQL  _databases such as  _MongoDB_  or  _Cassandra_
  

  * Ability to speak JSON (preferably JSON API) and REST to clients
  

  * Preferably, a degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field (higher technical institute or university)
  

  * Very good English skills
  

  * Curious mindset, a team player and desire to work and live in Austria

Engage millions of users with our products by developing the tools to reach them via push, email, and in-app messages.

YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE BY:

• Tracking user interactions to enable personalized push, email, and in-app messaging

• Developing and utilizing new, innovative tools and channels (like Android Notification Bubbles)

• Expanding the functionality of our current channels

• Implementing shared libraries (e.g. for deep linking) that are reusable across our apps

• Working closely with our campaign managers, product squads, and external partners (e.g. Emarsys)

WHAT MAKES YOU THE RIGHT MATCH:

• At least 2 years of practical experience in Android development and expert knowledge of Java and Android frameworks

• Enthusiasm for Kotlin (previous practical experience is a plus)

• Ideally, experience with in-app messaging and push notification integration

• Preferably, a degree in Mobile Computing, Computer Science, or a related field (higher technical institute or university)

• Very good English skills

• Willingness to work in beautiful Austria

As our new Senior Data Engineer, you will join our chocolate-loving data team in building an engineering-friendly data platform and services that empower us to make the most of our data.

YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE BY:

• Integrating data from various sources into our analytics backend

• Managing and curating the available data to assure its quality and availability

• Developing data models and schemas with our product teams

• Providing a platform to deploy and run data products in a production environment

• Deploying machine learning models in collaboration with data scientists

• Managing and continuously improving the data platform, services, and toolset to fit the evolving requirements of an agile business

WHAT MAKES YOU THE RIGHT MATCH:

• Advanced programming skills in at least one language (i.e. Python, Java, Scala)

• Advanced SQL skills

• Professional experience with Hadoop stack

• Ability to convert complex business systems and requirements into technical concepts and solutions

• Preferably a degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field (university or higher technical institute)

• Passion for new technologies and for creating value from data in a fast-changing environment

• Very good English skills
